Chantelle's Questioning & Critical Thinking

SECTION 4

1.       After completing the novel, why do you think Jane Austen chose to give the novel the title “Pride and Prejudice”?

2.       When or what moment do you think Elizabeth finally realizes that her opinion of Mr. Darcy from the beginning was completely wrong?

3.       In what way did Lady Catherine de Bourgh act as an obstacle to Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy’s love for each other?

4.       In the last chapter of the novel, Elizabeth asks Darcy to give an account to why he had fallen in love with her. What reason(s) does he give?

5.       “If he no longer cares for me, why silent? Teazing, teazing man! I will think no more about him.” (Aursten , 372) Jane says this to Elizabeth after they finally see Bingley after such a long time. What does this quote reveal about Jane Bennet and her current feelings towards the man she once thought she loved?
