Analysis of Setting Marina Section 1

Cultural/Historical
The culture in this novel is that it is a small community and nothing is kept a secret. Everyone is very judgmental and holds very strong stereotypes among one another.
Socio-economic
In this novel socio-economic play a big role because where you stand in society makes a big deal epically in the era this takes place in. If you are wealthier you are held to double standards rather than those who are less fortunate. For example, Mr.Bingley is a wealthy man and he is expected to have well manners however Mr. Darcy is also a wealthy man but he is looked down upon and not liked because he is considered ill mannered and snobby.
Location
This book takes place during the 18th century. Most of the novel takes place in an estate in England, Longbourne (the Bennet's home). It takes place in the country side including other places like Netherfield and Lucas Lodge and the nearby town of Meryton.
