Most Memorable Moment Marina Section 1

In my selection chapters 1-17 my most memorable moment was in chapter 3, the very first event, the ball.

                This ball was the very first event where the main characters, Elizabeth, Jane, Mr.Bingley, and Mr.Darcy met. It starts off with the word of a new wealthy single young man, Mr.Bingley is coming to town. Mrs. Bennet and the girls are overwhelmed with excitement to see him, so he was requested to come over. However things do not go as plan and Mrs.Bennet and the girls only see a slight glance of him while he is talking to Mr.Bennet. Mr.Bingley, also accompanied with his also single young best friend, Mr.Darcy is excited to go to the ball. Mrs. Bennet is sure that her daughters will go and Mr.Bingley will fall in love with at least one of the five.

                When they arrive at the ball, Mr.Darcys appearance attracted them immediately. Although he is physically more attractive than Mr.Bingley, his personality was a huge disappointment. While at the ball, Elizabeth overheard Mr. Darcy saying he seen as far prettier girls than her. Although it upset her,she realized she didn’t like him but she brushed it off her shoulders and continued on with the night. When they got home Mrs.Bennet was overjoyed that Mr.Bingley had two dances with one of her daughters, Jane.

                This moment stood out to me because it was the starting point of the book, this is where most of the personalities stood out and developed. It shows that the Bennet family is all about family life, especially Mrs.Bennet, her main goal in life is to get her daughters happily married. This also stood out that even though Mr.Darcy is much wealthier and more handsome than Mr.Bingley he is still not liked because of his rude and obnoxious personality. This showing that they are not only shallow people but they want someone who has more than just appearance, but someone who is a kind well mannered person. Then even after over hearing Mr. Darcy say such rude things about Elizabeth, she was still well spirited and went on with the night, showing that things shouldn’t get to you.

This can relate in real life, when it comes to relationships because if you are those shallow people that only go for looks you will not have a happy relationship. You have to dig deeper to find out if the person is a kind caring person, not someone is stuck up and snobby. First impressions are big and as you can see Mr. Darcy gave a first bad impression and that changed everyone's view on Mr. Darcy regardless whether he is or not. Also when it comes to something that upsets you especially when someone else says it, you should not really care what someone thinks or says about you because you no who you are.
